"Code Unknown was done in collaboration with Osaretin Ugiagbe and the Idubor family. Osaretin took the still photographs during a trip he took to Lagos in 2014; they were the inspiration for the piece. Over the course of a year, Osaretin and I had several conversations about his life in Nigeria and the experience of moving to the states. Exerts of these talks are included in the first few minutes of the video. I wanted to know more so I asked his family if they would be willing to video tape their lives in Lagos. They agreed. A month later they sent over 7 hours of video. The edited footage is the last 26 minutes of Code Unknown". Tracie Hervy. This collaboration was later renamed Fragment of a Chronology and exhibited at the Bronx Museum in 2015.
